Why do people play golf we wonder? What’s so great about it? Most of us live under the impression that golf is a sport for the utterly rich and the idlest bunch of people. That is exactly how it looks when you see on television. However all that would be blown away once you actually witness a match.

Even though golf as a game doesn’t have a great image in some people’s mind, the green course never failed to mesmerize. It always looks so perfect, makes you think that it’s a place somewhere up in the clouds! Such is the beauty of a golf course I’m sure we all agree. And what’s an even more elegant sight is a lady golfer displaying her golfing prowess among the seemingly elite gentlemen.

It’s always a pleasure to see sportswomen in action. There is just something so graceful about them, it’s unexplainable. Tennis for example is one sport where women have excelled and brought fame to their respective nations. There are a few things about sportswomen that have captured more attention than the icons themselves. The attire is one such thing. Sports attire has always been changing with the times, with different trends and patterns catching on. Tennis apparel for women for instance has been becoming bolder as the years pass.

Ever wondered what a lady golfer’s apparel looked like in the olden days? Back in the nineteenth century, the golf wear for ladies used to be prim and proper and outright conservative. They used to wear knit blouses and long skirts on the course. No attention was given to the playing ease. Slowly it became clear that the skirts were coming in the way of the club and that it was not the way to be. Then slowly as time passed, lady golfers moved on to more snazzy outfits, ones which would give them the freedom and the confidence. And then came the skort! As weird as it sounds, it looks a bit odd too! As you may have guessed, it’s a blend of skirt and shorts. It is basically a pair of shorts with a flap in front making it look like a skirt! It lets the ladies play the sport freely, at the same time appearing elegant.
